Andrea J Wilson
Founder & Director

After working as an independent tutor for nine years, in 2015 Andrea founded Learning: Empowered! in order to create a quality in-home tutoring experience for local youth in Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda and Walnut Creek. She is passionate about education, and specializes in supporting students with learning differences. A graduate of UC Davis, Andrea enjoys making art and traveling with her amazing husband Joe and their awesome dog Captain Cordell di Ferdinand von Sparkly Pants
Bri Billa
Academic Tutor
Bri is a graduate of Northern Arizona University, where she earned a BS in Psychology & a BA in Philosophy. With six years of experience with youth in special education, after school programs, and camp counseling, Bri is passionate about child development and making learning accessible. Outside of tutoring, Bri is an extended learning program director and enjoys reading, hiking, baking, and spending time with family & friends.
Chinmay Rana
Academic Tutor
Chinmay graduated from UC Berkeley with a bachelor’s in chemistry in May 2026, with a research focus in computational chemistry. He has over four years of experience tutoring high schoolers through his involvement in the American Chemical Society at Berkeley’s Education Committee, as well as experience teaching through his facilitation of a mathematics class at Berkeley in Fall 2024. Outside of teaching, Chinmay enjoys playing guitar in his band and learning new languages.
Daniel Miller
Senior Tutor
Daniel has been tutoring students in Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda and Walnut Creek with Learning: Empowered! since 2019. He graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in biology with a minor in history. He tutors high school math, science, Spanish, history, and the SAT. He graduated in May 2022 with a nursing degree from San Jose State University, and currently works as an ER nurse, in addition to tutoring.

Hannah Peebles
Academic Tutor
Hannah joined the Learning: Empowered! Team in the Fall of 2025. She graduated from UC Berkeley in May 2024 with a degree in History and a minor in Education in hopes of becoming a public school teacher. Aside from her passion for history and working with students, Hannah loves spending time outdoors, discovering the next best coffee shop, being active, and playing board games with her family. As a Bay Area native and previous public school student herself, Hannah finds great joy in working with students to reach – and exceed – their academic goals as well as pursue their personal interests.
Jose Rivera
Academic Tutor
Jose Rivera completed his degree in Nutrition and Metabolic Biology with a minor in Global Public Health at UC Berkeley, where he also works in a research lab studying metabolic regulation. He brings his background in science and his experience as a native Spanish speaker to his work with students. His tutoring focuses on building confidence, strengthening study habits, and breaking challenging concepts into manageable steps. Jose plans to pursue a career in medicine, with an interest in emergency care. Outside of studying and tutoring, he enjoys playing pickleball, staying active, and spending time with his two dogs.
